A former Lancaster County woman will serve up to 20 years in state prison for the 2007 murder of her newborn child, prosecutors say. Tara Brazzle, 46, of Valparaiso, Indiana, placed her newborn child in a dumpster outside the YMCA where she worked after she gave birth, according to Lancaster County investigators. During an interview with detectives in 2021, Brazzle said she knew she was pregnant, did not seek prenatal care before the childbirth, and did not provide medical care to the child after giving birth, according to investigators.
